I use to be Creative director of Vidal Sassoon here in Chicago but deceided to stay home with my daughter . So to keep my hands and mind creative I started sewing childrens clothes and accessories. I have a shop on Etsy that I opened in 2005 but didn't really do anything with it until Oct.2006 and I'm doing pretty well with it. The key is you really need to post something everyday and thats tough. I've been designing on a Mac for almost 20 years now and I really needed to start working with my hands again to save my sanity, so I've been making prints. I also do a little knitting and have published a couple of my patterns on knitty.com. This time of year the dead of winter inspires me to start hatching plans for spring, so I thought a good way to get the Illinois Street Team in gear would be to start a blog. So please introduce yourselves, join the flickr group and subscribe to our blog's feed. And if you'd like to volunteer (set up a forum, run for office, gather data on events, etc.) please send me an email info[at]maryburrdesign[dot]com. I’ll start today’s introductions.
