I’ll start today’s introductions.
I’m Mary Burr and I’m a graphic designer (www.maryburrdesign.com) that just opened my Etsy shop (MaryBurr.etsy.com) last month. I’ve been designing on a Mac for almost 20 years now and I really needed to start working with my hands again to save my sanity, so I’ve been making prints. I also do a little knitting and have published a couple of my patterns on knitty.com. This time of year the dead of winter inspires me to start hatching plans for spring, so I thought a good way to get the Illinois Street Team in gear would be to start a blog. So please introduce yourselves, join the flickr group and subscribe to our blog’s feed. And if you’d like to volunteer (set up a forum, run for office, gather data on events, etc.) please send me an email info[at]maryburrdesign[dot]com.

Greetings!
My name is Christina, and I live in Forest Park–an urban burb that’s only a stone’s throw from Chicago (and the last stop on one side of the Blue Line).
I mostly knit and crochet plush monsters, and I opened my etsy shop in December 2006. To date, I’ve had no sales, so I want to get involved in a community that wants to promote etsy and local crafts. Hopefully, through collaboration, we can generate more attention and appreciation to our works.
I just set up a flickr account (Dekvenga Delights) BUT I cannot figure out how to subscribe to our Flickr group. If you could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it–I’d love to add some picks.

Hi everyone, my name is Rebecca and I live in Chicago (Dunning)-about as far out that you can go west, ya know where the forest preserves and cemeteries lay.
I use to be Creative director of Vidal Sassoon here in Chicago but deceided to stay home with my daughter .
So to keep my hands and mind creative I started sewing childrens clothes and accessories.
I have a shop on Etsy that I opened in 2005 but didn’t really do anything with it until Oct.2006 and I’m doing pretty well with it. The key is you really need to post something everyday and thats tough.
